After a lot of successful outlets Chai kahani has made its way to Sainikpuri for the people of Secunderabad. A place where coffee rules over chai with a number of cafes around Chai kahani is the only one that serves good tea now.

Ambience:

The place has an amazing ambience. Especially in a place like sainikpuri which has a lot of trees and cold breeze always. The tables though a few are very low which causes a lot of trouble. Each and every table has got a succulent on it. The tables and chairs look very good, a few paintings on the walls and some games to play.

Overall the ambience is very well done. They have outdoor seating and indoor seating as well. I’d rate the ambience a 4.25.

Food:

We started with a chicken toast. Its a very unusual one. It was a chicken and egg toast which was covered in white sauce and had some chilly flakes on top. The taste was good but the toast had a eggy small which was over powering.

Then came in the Red Indian chicken meal. This had chicken breast cooked in the red tomato sauce which is the same for their pasta. Even this had issue though. The veggies on the side were burnt , the chicken was over cooked , the dish lacked the carbohydrate component ( toast, potatoes etc).

I had a nutella shake which was good. It was thick and did not dissapoint.

The burgers we had were the barbeque and the double decker. The buns were soft but the main componet ( the patty was just not there). I wouldn’t say it was dissapointing but it wasn’t great either.

In the waffles we chose the triple chocolate and nutella. The waffles were pretty good. I liked both of them. They were fluffy on the inside and a slight crunch on the outside.

The Mushroom masala omelette and chicken penne in white sauce were better than the others. The omelette was fluffy and filling. The pasta had some good chuncks of chicken and well coated pasta.

The pancakes again were a disappointment. They needed the rise which wasn’t these. A fluffy pancake is what we expect but again it was a vegetarian version so not sure what went wrong.

The teas on the other had were some of the best. The cinnamon one had a slight aroma which wasn’t over powering. The best part is that they all were milky , creamy and thick.

Overall a few goods , a few bads. Need improvement in food. I’d rate the food at 3.5.

Service, Pricing and Location:

The service is prompt. Its a new place and we shall give it time to settle in. The food from the kitchen comes in  pretty quick. No complaints with the service. I’d rate it a 4.

The pricing is on the higher side though. The target customers are students. But this portion size and the price don’t go well with students budget. I’d rate it a 3.5
