Over The Moon brew co. – weekday lunch buffet

A lot of places have come up and running the concept of micro brewing. These places make their own beers in house in small batches.

What is a micro brewery?

A microbrewery is a brewery that produces small amounts of beer (or sometimes root beer), typically much smaller than large-scale corporate breweries, and is independently owned. Such breweries are generally characterized by their emphasis on quality, flavour and brewing technique. (source: Wikipedia)

About:

The Company was started to let people experience some really good atmosphere, open roof top experience in Hyderabad.

They have a lot of events that they conduct for parties with some known Djs . Apart from the events the food and beverage sections are really well maintained.

They have got 2 outlets in Hyderabad currently. Jubilee hills and Gachibowli. We were at Gachibowli to check their weekday buffet.

Ambience:

The Gachibowli outlet is set on 2 floors. The ground floor is like a pub with a well set bar counter. The tables and interiors are well done with some good amount of wooden finishing. That gives it the rustic and pub like looks to it.

The first floor on the other hand has the restaurant. This is a fully furnished and set up restaurant. Both the floors are very different from each other.

The restaurant has got both buffet and ala carte available. Its on you what to choose. We tried both of them and both were pretty good.

Food:

We did not try the soup. They had tomato soup with croutons.

Appetizers:

We directly started with the appetizers. We had a version of fried fish,  Irani chicken tikka, pepper chicken , vegetable Manchuria, veg cheese poppers, bharwan paneer tikka, beer battered fish , peri peri prawns, Burmese parcels and crispy lotus stem and water chestnuts.

I know these are lot. A few are from the buffet and a few were ala carte.

From the non veg appetizers from the buffet , Irani chicken tikka was well marinated and cooked well. The fried fish was a little soggy because it was put on the table. The pepper chicken was really good. a kick from the freshly ground pepper.

The veg ones I really loved the Manchuria. I like it slightly crispy and soft and this was like really good. The taste was bang on. The veg cheese poppers and paneer were decent as well.

We tried their Burmese parcels, mushroom stuffed with 3 cheese and crispy lotus stem and water chestnuts from their ala carte menu. These were the in house specialties and both lived up to the expectation. The mutton boti kekab was also good. the mutton was well cooked.

Must try the Burmese parcels and crispy lotus stem and water chest nuts.

The beer battered fish and peri peri prawns were not for me. not a beer and wasabi person. So I did not like it that much. The prawns without wasabi were pretty good.

We had a few amazing mocktails as well.

Main course:

For the mains they had a decent choice from the buffet. The mutton saag wala was very good. Mutton was cooked to perfection. It was very soft. They had a Chinese version for chicken. It went really well with the noodles. Needed a little more seasoning and i would suggest them to keep stiffing it with addition of a little water. The Chinese style gravies go lumpy when they are set.

The biryani was pretty decent. I would not say it was the best but for a buffet it was well done. Not overly spiced , it was a mild version.

Desserts:

They have a lot of good desserts. The cheesecake I would say was the best cheesecake I have had in desserts for a buffet anywhere else. The pastries were really good as well. Fresh and soft.

The Indian sweets were also amazing. The punjabi kheer had a good flavour of saffron. It was not overly sweet as well. The gulab jamun was good as well but the extreme centre past was a like a little lumpy.

The fresh fruits were perfectly diced with dragon fruit , pomegranate and watermelon.

Pricing and Location:

The place accepts zomato gold on food. The ala carte prices are very nominal as well.

The weekday lunch buffet is priced at 590 all inclusive.
