Ramadan also known as Ramazan, is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting.
The evenings are bright and the nights are lit. The city has got lots of things to cover in the holy month. The iconic Charminar and the surrounding turns into an exhibition of artificial jewellery , clothing and food.
Its not just Charminar but places like Towlichoki has also got a few food places. Charminar has Shadab hotel, Nimrah cafe, Akbar fast food, roadside kebab stalls etc.
Our journey was at Tolichowki. Places like Pista house, Shah ghouse, Mandar, Zaras fine dine mandi, a.m. p.m. , Nice fruit juice etc are a few hits.
We started or journey with the world famous haleem of Pista house.
The haleem was perfectly done, mildly spiced but rich in flavour. Each bowl costs 160/- served in their iconic green bowl. Apart from that we had some faluda , fruit salads , mousse bowls etc. The bakery section is new with many offerings.
After this we headed to Zaras fine dine for some mandi. Mandi is a traditional dish from Yemen of meat, rice, and spices. It is also eaten in some gulf nations . It is now very popular in other areas as well.
We had Al Faham, mutton mandi and chicken mandi. All of them were decent.
The final destination was nice fruit juice centre. The juices are decent but its their malai bowls that that are amazing. Do try them. They are priced around 150 for a bowl.
